Gosh darn cat!
My kitty has been peeing on the carpet in the extra bedroom and I didn't know it until 2 days ago. I know its because we just moved and got a puppy at the same time. Cats are weird about changes like that. I've looked and looked for that "magic cure" to get rid of the smell and it seems I have made it worse. I used my carpet cleaner yesterday with hot water.
I didn't know heat sets in the smell and actually makes it worse. . I also used an whole spray bottle of natures miracle which didn't work at all. We are eventually replacing the carpet but weren't not ready yet. Otherwise I'd just rip it out and toss down a rug for the time being. i'm just really frustrated. It wouldn't be such a big deal if it was just us smelling it for a bit but I have friends and family coming to visit and see our new house. Now it smells like cat piss.

here i looked up how to clear cat urine out of carpets, heres the website also!
http://www.getridofthings.com/get-rid-of-cat-urine.htm Home Remedy for cat urine smell. This is a great recipe for removing cat urine odor from carpet. Start by blotting up as much of the urine as possible with old rags or paper towels. Next mix 3 parts water with one part vinegar and saturate the spot. Dry thoroughly using the same method mentioned above. Once dry, sprinkle the area with baking soda. Next mix ¾ cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide solution with one tsp. dish detergent and sprinkle over the baking soda. Try this first on a small inconspicuous area of the carpet to make sure the hydrogen peroxide won’t discolor your carpet. Next, use your fingers or an old brush to work the baking soda in. I’ve used an old hairbrush with little bits of plastic over the tips with good results. Allow this to dry and vacuum it up. If there’s still a slight odor when done, lather, rinse and repeat.

Vinegar, vinegar and more vinegar! We foster and the kitties we get aren't always litter trained (not to mention, those that are are often too stressed to remember they are). Vinegar/water (50/50) worse EVERY time!
