Operation MilitarySOS: Project Afghanistan (All areas)
So as some of you may know, Elizabeth's husband is in Afghanistan right now. In his off-time he has taken to the people of this war-torn country. He has met many children and families and has seen first-hand what they go through.
Elizabeth has been wonderful and has been sending her husband care packages of items for these men, women and children. So we thought it would be great to expand her generous efforts and put this out there for anyone interested in donating. Some of the items that would help are; Soap Shampoo Toothbrushes Toothpaste Lotion Colored pencils Paper Childrens clothing, especially warm clothes Candy (that doens't melt and can be passed out easily) Toys/stuffed animals New or secondhand items are great. Elizabeth's husband will be taking pictures of the children and families we have helped so we can see those little smiles. Link to boxes: http://shop.usps.com/webapp/wcs/stor...roductId=36604 Elizabeth had great ideas of looking through Target $1 bins and the dollar store, where you can find cheap soap, paper, stickers, candies, etc. If you are interested, please PM Elizabeth and she can get you the address. If you don't have much to donate, you can send items to someone else who is sending a larger box or could possibly send small items to Elizabeth or myself as well to include in our packages. Thanks so much guys!
He's a bit of a badass, playing with bombs for a living, but he's such a softie and is SO happy to be helping people. I know he will feel great to know there is support back home, not just me sending him stuff! Can I add colored pencils/markers to that list? I saw that OfficeMax has a great sale on them but we don't have one here in Tampa. Christopher said the kids where he is have never seen colored pencils really. So excited for them to color! It really makes such a difference, creating a relationship with these people, showing them support in a way that doesn't involve weapons... it means a lot to them. He has met the most grateful people there... he was tearing up telling me story about a lil one kissing his hand as a thank you the other day I just love to get involved and do my part from here... So thanks to all interested!

Oh, did we mention the flat rate box specifically for APOs? It's pretty large and about 10 dollars. Def the best way to go!

NO, you didn't! I was curious about that too, because I know the USPS offers free care package boxes.... will those work too?
