Operation MilitarySOS
Operation MilitarySOS is where the members of SOS can come together and participate in a singular or team effort to help out local charities, non-profit organizations and other philanthropic events.
Participation in all charitable events will usually be as a team, and will be representative of the site. It will be our way of giving back to the community and showing that military spouses and significant others show support to more than just their own. I will be running the organization of the San Diego area events, and anyone interested in running an event in their area can PM me their idea. All charities/organizations will be thoroughly researched by myself to make sure that it is in fact reputable and that all the proceeds are going to the charity itself. Teams will sign up for the events as Operation MilitarySOS and will be representing military spouses/significant others as well as the site itself. I feel that it will be a great promotion for the site, but more importantly it will be great for all the local charities that will benefit from our support. In addition to team fundraising, there will be miscellaneous other things we can help out with (such as posting lists of items needed by charities for donation, volunteer opportunities such as answering emails/phones, etc). I am still working on setting this up, but if you have any ideas or would like to organize a team for your local charity, please feel free to let me know!
