Hawaii DL
We are PCSing within the next year, and we are hoping to go to Hawaii. My drivers license will expire next year, and I was wondering, for those of you that have had Hawaii drivers licenses, are they easy to get? Would I need to retake the drivers test there, or could I bypass it and just pay a fee?
Note: My current DL is NOT for the state that we are currently in, otherwise I would just renew here. But if I have to take another drivers test, then I'll look into getting a DL here before we leave. TIA

I just renewed mine before I moved and never had it changed. But when I looked into it, yes I would have had to take the driving test. If you let it expire you will have to take the written test too.

Does the state you have your DL with offer to extend your DL if your husband is in the military? I believe Oregon does. I had mine expire while we were here but they had a year grace period for people living out of state before you had to retake the test, and then they offered extensions if you were military.
I was going home to visit though so I just renewed it then anyhow. |
