No Hawaii for Us. It's official.

The Navy says it's too expensive to move us to Hawaii from Korea. Probably because a lot of our HHG is in San Diego so they would have to ship that over as well.

Honestly I am relieved.

It was my decision to pick Hawaii because of my job so dh put in for it. But after he put in for it I began to get really nervous. We have been in Korea for almost 3 years and it will be a total for 3 1/2 years by the time we move and Korea is like being on an island because the only country we border is North Korea. So the thought of going to another island was making me anxious. So as we waited for the results I was hoping they would say no. My job isn't THAT important, I am sure in due time my company can find me something in San Diego if we do go there. San Diego is not official but it's pretty much a given we'll go there. We lived there for 8 years prior to Korea so it's going home for me and my boys.

Oh another reason is dh will be deploying and I didn't want to be in a new place, at least I know San Diego! However, Italy I could handle but I doubt the Navy would move us there, either.

Back to the drawing board, dh says new orders will be up next week. The last chance to pick orders is Dec and if he hasn't picked anything by then then it will be the needs of the navy... and that means the sand box. I'd rather he be on a ship.

I hope you get the orders you want next time around! At least its a relief you wont be in SD.
