Korea-Please tell me it's not scary - OCONUS (Over Seas)

So we're 75% sure that DH is gonna get orders to Korea and we're planning on trying for command sponsorship so I can go too.

I've only been over the border to Canada for a few hours, otherwise I've never left the country. This will be our first duty station, he's in AIT right now. As of right now I'm still in shock and not sure where to start...

Nice people, beautiful country, tons of things to do, very safe - absolutely terrifying! LOL!

Korea is an awesome country and I am more than delighted with my home here. I would be very content to spend the rest of my life here.

I love it over here. Like SS said; so much to do and its beautiful.

Honestly, its really easy to adapt because they have incorporated so many Western things over here. There really isn't anything from the States that I can't get here. Plus, the people are really warm and welcoming.

It's not the 3rd world country it once was after the war. It's very modern here and it is very safe. Seoul is a bustling metropolis with very nice modern, western style apartments, fantastic public transport system and more techno gadgets to make any geek pass out in orgasmic euphoria. They have some amazing cell phones.

However, driving is a nightmare here... and I am not kidding on that one.

I seriously saw someone driving around base today in a Hummer. Good Lord! I would never be able to get within 10 blocks of my house if I drove that.

Driving was a nightmare before we acquired the land yacht, LOL! It's just different challenges now. The Kia has no balls but parks nicely, the Flex is huge and hard to park but boy does it haul ass on the road! That is if there is open road to haul ass on.

We can barely maneuver our little Kia in your neighborhood.

Korea is beautiful. This is my first time out of the US not including being on a cruise to the bahamas...But it is amazing here. We love it here. We are always on the go...Right Songtan Sally!

If I say it's scary can you put down Hawaii instead?

I'm sure once you get settled everything will be fine. I am going to miss you, and how on earth are we going to talk at least once or twice a week when you're in Korea?

Umm...It'll be like old times when you call me and I answer and we talk. And then I hear the boys be crazy in the background and laugh while you're telling them not to do something they shouldn't be. Oh wait that was yesterday wasn't it?

And somehow I don't think the Army would like the commute from Hawaii to Korea... Trust me we'll talk, you can't get rid of me that easily!

I talk to my friends and family in the States all the time.
