Hard copy orders - OCONUS (Over Seas)

How long did it take before you had all of your paperwork in, screeings done, and your sponsor paperwork and whatever else in before your sponsor recieved their hard copy orders? Hopefully that made sense haha.

I have my medical screening interview next week and then they said they would mail(?) that paperwork off to my husband so he can sign in and turn it in since he is in Korea. My husband is just starting the process of out-processing Korea also. We want the hard copy orders asap, so we can ship our car early & all of our household belongings so it's there when we get there. Am I stupid to think that everything will go smooth, and we will have orders in hand within the next month or two?

We found out in June that we would be going to Japan, we can't do our actual oversea's screening until DH gets his hard orders, he was supposed to have gotten them last month but his detailer said he probably wouldn't get them until next month.

We found out that we were going to England in June sometime. We didn't really start doing any paperwork or medical clearance stuff until July. We got our hard copy orders on Oct. 23rd and our report no later is Jan. 31st.

It seems to me tho that it is so different for everyone.

We are going to japan found out Sept we cant even start any screening until after he gets hard copy orders detailer said that would be a few months.

They will cut them once everything on his list is done... DH gets his within a few days of completing all the mandatory paperwork.

This isn't true for the Air Force, you can't get orders until you have a screening usually.

Yeah it seems the Air Force does it different. You can't do anything like that with the Navy till after you get your Orders in paper.

It's because the Air Force doesn't want to cut orders and then have someone medically denied. They get cut their assignment and once everything is done and in order, paper orders are cut.

Hopefully my husband has the hard copy orders in the next 3 weeks or so. *crosses fingers*! I just want to move out of where I live now, so the sooner we have a TMO pick up date the better since I have to give 30 days notice where I live.

We have orders to Germany, (AF) and we can't get orders until 90 days out. We finished our check list already of this that could be done without orders.
