Those of you living in Italy...
Does anyone of you live out in town? I know Italy is notorious on not having closets in their bedrooms but I also think if you live in housing they do have closets. So if you live out in town are you using wardrobes or what? I'm so concerned about this cause we have soooooo much stuff and if we don't have closets I just don't know how to organize everything
We want to live out in town so I'm very concern about this.Also.. I know they use a different type of volts for electricity so I'm wondering about our small appliances. I have understand if you live in housing they have both connectors but I doubt they would if you live out in town I wonder if most renters who rent to military families have both in her home.

I live on the economy. Housing did give us small wardrobes for our things. They are pretty tiny though and its just one per person. I got lucky, the house we are renting has closets in the hallway and I have a garage downstairs for storage.
As for voltage, a lot of things can work with 110 or 220 as long as you have the plug adapter. It will say on the appliance what voltage it works with. Most big stuff goes both ways. The smaller stuff, I just use our transformer box that is issued to us. We also have bought a couple. |

When we lived in Italy the military furnished us with wardrobes. (which were small and nothing compared to a closet but we made them work) We used transformers for appliances and such.

So I wont have to replace my small appliances!
I'm so concerned about the closet space! We own a three bedroom house and we have so much stuff! and so much clothes! I guess I'll have to decide what I really want to keep. I would love if we can rent a house with at least 3 bedrooms and hopefully a garage or big storage space. I wish I could find a link with houses for rent but so far no luck for the area we are going. I hate that we have to wait to get there and see what they have for rent for us to see. |

Purge, because Italian homes do not have traditional closets, most likely you'll be using the wardrobes.
We lived out in town on the economy for part of our tour, and in base-leased housing for the other parts. Have I mentioned I'm so jealous you're going to Sig? The temples in Agrigento...buying dishes in Patti...gold in Lentini...pottery in Caligirone.

DH lives on the economy, there's not base housing at Aviano. They issue 2 wardrobes per a person. More than enough closet space in my opinion. We bought new small appliances and used the military's loaned big ones. The energy bill to use transformers all the time can be crazy.
