How long did it take
for you to get command sponsorship and get over there?
DH has been gone 2 1/2 months and then today someone said it may be another another 3 or 4 months before we would make it. To us that may not be worth it we will already be half way through. So how long did it take you? |

So if you do get it, he will not just have a few months but more like 18 months or more. When dh inquired about Korea, command sponsorship was offered we just had to formally apply in order to get the overseas screenings done so basically we had command sponsorship when dh put in for orders to Korea. It was different for us, dh is an E7 in the navy and it was a hot fill billet meaning they needed someone... anyone to take them so when dh mentioned it to his detailer, the detailer just about fell over himself saying if dh wanted them they were his, family can go, have a pov, etc. |

My husband applied for command sponsorship while at AIT 2 1/2 months ago. When he arrived in Korea early September and checked on things, they hadn't done a thing with the paperwork. So he resubmitted things at the end of September. It's been over a month since he submitted it the second time and we're still waiting. It's only supposed to take 2 weeks, but they're taking their time. Everyone keeps telling him we should get it and there's no reason we shouldn't be approved. Doesn't make the waiting any easier.
Hope you get approved soon! |

Whom ever received their command sponsorship in 24 hours, that is probably a record and you should be really happy about that. It usually takes weeks because you need no-fee passports and such most of the time... depending on where the duty station is.
