Hi everyone! I had made an intro about a few weeks ago in the newbies section, but i havent really been on here to mcuh after that. But I wanted to re-introduce myself to you all, especially the ladies who might happen to be in South Korea. My husband graduates AIT next week and we just received his Orders and our apporval for CS for Camp Humphreys! We are very excited!

Cool!!! Humphreys is near Osan AB. There are quite a few of us here in Korea. I am in the Seoul area, dh is based here at Yongsan.

My husband just got to Humphreys about a month ago. I'm still waiting on command sponsorship, but I hope to be there soon!

... And how long was the flight to get there? Im at Ft Gordon. so i know i have to go to ATL. but i was just wondering how long it might be with lay overs and what not. I have a 6 year old and i have to try to keep her occupied or the whole plane will not have a great flight! lol J/k....

From Atlanta to Japan is about 14 hours. It's a loooooooooooooooong flight.

Try to get a flight where you arrive in Korea late at night. You move through customs faster AND if you land late at night, you will go to sleep right away and then wake up normally.

I've never been jet-lagged; I always land about 11 or so at night.

I concur! Customs just waived us through. Of course being military we go through a different customs area. We arrived around 6PM, went through immigration then got our luggage around 7PM or so, walked though customs, the guy asked us if we had any weapons, we said no and he waved us through. It took a while to get to Yongsan and I think we got to our hotel room around 10PM and we crashed hard. We were all up around 5AM, though. The only place open was the P/X in the hotel so I had to go there to get food.
That reminds me, when you do get here, you need to have a copy of your dh's orders in order to shop at the commy and P/X until you get your ration card. I didn't know that but the lady in the hotel P/X figured I was new since not too many people go wandering around in the hotel who don't belong there at 5AM so she let me slide on that one.

Ok..... flight arrive late at night, got it, take DHs orders to shop at PX until I get ration card, got it! Man it's its a lot of stuff to do and learn.

This is our 1st PCS! And I have two weeks to do everything!

A Tad overwhelming, lol But I can do it!
