YIKES I just looked at my countdown and it says FOUR months for the first time instead of FIVE or SIX and I freaked a little bit!! I know four is a lot still but I'm used to saying "OH we leave for England in six months..." and I think I've been saying that since I found out we're going and all of a sudden it says four months (Okay it says four months and four weeks, which is basically five months, but the time is flying by which is kind of scary because I have lived in the same small town my whole life!)
Still a lot of stuff to get done - big meeting with the people who could approve/deny me command sponsorship sooo that's a little nervewracking. Anyway, who else is moving to England, where to and when? Hubby and I will be at RAF Croughton by March 18th... Probably nobody else is going there since I've heard it's pretty small, but who else is going close? |

DH and I just found out last week that we are headed to RAF Mildenhall in March-and he's depoyed right now. So, I can understand the nervewracking feeling
. He will return in early Dec and we have to be there by March! What were some of the very first things you did (or took care of) on your "to-do" list? Did you have your appt with the big people to approve your sponsorship? How did it go? I'm nervous about mine too...any pointers? What's it like?

Yes, please let us know how your clearance goes-GOOD LUCK!!!
To top it off, that bloodwork has to pass and there has to be a 6 month timeframe from when the lab processes the blood to when she can arrive in England without having to be quarintined. So, long story short, our puppy will need to be quarintined for 2 months over there. ..anyone know a trustworthy quarintine place that is close to RAF Mildenhall and not too expensive?

Well I had my appt Wednesday and it actually went really well. It was my second appointment, my follow up one and it was MUCH less scary than the first one
. For me, the difficulty is because of I have had seizures in the past, which are now controlled by medication but since I still see a specialist for them, they have to have all of that documented. Also, whether or not they have a doctor over there able to handle my "special case" (which I don't really see as a "special case" since it is completely controlled by medication, I just have to be able to see a neurologist occasionally who can prescribe me pills. I guess they just want to have one nearby "just in case" hehe) that will determine whether or not we will be able to PCS overseas. So this makes it all the more complicated!Besides that, they only asked me questions like have I been hospitalized or been to the emergency room in the past year or so (I think that was the timetable) and did I have any upcoming surgeries, and did I require any sort of medical equipment, etc... does that make sense? I don't require any of that, haven't had any of that and will not have any of that, so it wasn't an issue for me. It only lasted about 5 minutes, the waiting was the longest part! Now we just wait and see if A) I am approved or B) They need more info!! If you need any more info let me know, or I will let you guys know what they say to me. Wish us luck
