I know the Air Force makes people have screenings done before they will change orders to accompanied... Not 100% sure though about the Marine Corps. There's lots of threads on the screening, they ask you questions to make sure you haven't had anything wrong in the last 5 years (asthma, cancer, depression/anxiety can all possibly be an issue).

I've been waiting for seven months to get this stuff over with. Yesterday then finally sent out our paperwork for approval. I haven't gotten my medical exams yet, I was actually just told about them on friday. I hope the best for you. its a major pain in the butt.
I would just bring your clothes and anything that you can't live without. You'll have to find everything when you get there because its going to be so expensive to ship everything. Unless you're getting lucky and they're actually pay for your things to come with. PM and we can talk. I'd love to talk to other people in the same kind of situations.

Hi! We are stationed in Germany & before I came over here I had to get my doctor's records & dental records cleared before I got here or they wouldn't let me come. But my main problem was my no-fee passport...that took forever to get. I think I got all of my paperwork from one base where we were from. They say to go to the closest air base from you & they could help you out. But I am not sure what the marines do.
As far as moving, I am not sure if Marines do it the same way, but you have unaccompanied baggage that you pack (the stuff that you need right away when you get to you house) things like pots & pans etc. & then you have your household goods they pack separately. Like your bed & the big stuff. I would try & pack everything you can in the first go around. I didn't know what to pack either but once I got here to Germany I was man I wish I had that here. haha. You can always ask the moving people what all you can pack and so on. They told me ahead of time what not to pack and whatever. I hope I helped!
