Hotels on Base

Can anyone tell me if there are any hotels or places to stay on base when visiting my SO in Germany? I will be visiting my Fiance at the end of November, he is stationed in Grafenwoehr, Germany. Are there any places near by that I can stay or better yet on base?, I obviously can't stay in the barracks.

Hey. I visited my BF earlier this year; he was stationed at Vilseck. I stayed in the barracks with him. But I know Vilseck had small hotels on post. Graf was much bigger than Vilseck (about 30 minutes away), so I'd assume they would have hotels there.

I am pretty sure there is a hotel on post. I know Baumholder is tiny and there is a hotel there. Did you look on their website?

I live on post Graf.
The hotel on post is right next door to our building.
There is a main building that houses the reception and all and then there are other buildings that are seperate which have rooms, they have a fair amount of rooms on post here. We stayed in them while waiting on housing. It just depends on when you plan to stay if you will be able to get a room or not. Your SO will have to call army lodging and make a reservation or someone else with an ID card. Reservations for leisure travel without orders cannot be booked too early. You just have to keep calling to see if they have open rooms for the times you need. If you like I can pm you more info.

I was under the impression you aren't able to stay in the barracks, is there any truth to that? I thought my SO could be in trouble if he was caught. I'm really new to all this so i'm really unsure.

How soon is too soon to book a a room in the hotel on base? Is a month out too soon?

All I know is that my BF wrote a memo to his higher ups to let them know I'd be staying in the barracks. Luckily, my bf didn't have a roommate while he was in Germany.
