Wedding Date - Weird or Sensible?
Poll Incoming, be patient. =P
Okay, I will graduate in December 2010. DF and I were going to get married in January or February 2011, but we were reconsidering and thinking about getting married summer of 2010. Mainly because then he could get all the paperwork figured out during my last semester and then I could just move right out there after graduation. This is mainly because he seems to think that getting housing will take about a month and I'm pretty sure from other people's experiences I've read on this site that it'll take a bit longer. So, which makes the most sense? |

I'm with S. Sally on this. Think about how this will effect your financial aid. It might not be worth it. Plus, the military isn't going to pay for your move as it is. So if you wait to marry. . That time you are waiting for base housing you can use to build up the money for your relocation. Also, if you don't have children seriously consider if base housing is the best idea financially for you. Many couples find that by living off base and getting BAH allows them to make a bit more than losing all BAH to live on base. It could be an excellent way to save up and pay off student loans or save up for a trip or even a baby.
ETA: nevermind, I just noticed he is stationed OCONUS |
