Thank you all!! I just want to get out there now and explore a bit more. Only a 2,400 mile drive from Michigan standing in my way! We should all try and get together at some point. I'll be new to the area and looking to meet people

Are you driving with someone (I hope?) - I drove from GA to San Diego a couple of years ago, it was just under 2400 miles and took about 37 hours with all the stops (it was me and my mom, who pretty much just kept me awake while i drove!). I got into SD at like 3 am and was at work by 9 am...I was a zombie for like 2 days straight

Long road trips are always an adventure that's for sure! Thankfully I've convinced my brother to make the trip with me When DB PCS'd out to Ft. Lewis last March I made the drive with him from Ft. Benning, GA up there with a stop in San Francisco to see my family. Talk about a LONG trip and we had to pull over a bunch the first day because of a few tornadoes in TN. I think it was about 53 hours total I'm thinking the drive to WA will take a little over 40 since I'll be pulling a Uhaul this time. My oh my will I be happy to get there in one piece

That's great! I'm glad you'll be driving with someone, hopefully you and your bro can bond (more) during the trip...I'd probably be ready to strangle mine

for a safe and nice weathered trip!

My Mom did the drive with me from Ohio out here. 40ish hours, no sleep stops. Really tests a mother/daughter relationship Luckily all the passes and stuff should be clear enough so you shouldn't hit any weather that's too bad

No sleep stops? Now that is ambitious! We'll be leaving on a Sunday morning and plan to make it out there by Tuesday night. it all goes according to plan
