Fort Lewis Housing - NorthWestern U.S

Hi everyone. We finally have our orders! OMG, what an ordeal. Anyhow, I leave here in 2 weeks, and we get to Lewis near the end of October. We are really considering living on post to save money. I have called the housing office twice, left messages, and of course they never call me back. Does anyone have info on the housing areas on post? Dh is e-6 and we will need a 4 bedroom. thanks

im not sure but my twin just got up there and got housing when they went to the office.. sorry im not much help hope yall can get housing and/or more info

I am hoping they are just really busy and that is why they haven't called back. Dh called from Iraq this morning and spoke to someone, but everyone was headed into a meeting and told him they would call me back in a couple hours.

You aren't too far from me now

I am in Columbus.

It really depends on the neighborhood. Have you checked out the housing website? They show what is available according to rank and number of children.

I know sometimes the pictures can be misleading, and they don't have all the floor plans. According to the website, many look very small. Dh's orders say because of his curret duty assignment, he is to be moved to the top of the wait list. We were considering living off post, but I think we are going to try to save by living on.

Yeah, I don't know if I would go on the list until I was able to see the model homes they have.

Beachwood isn't bad and it's more secluded. Is there any possible way for one of you to come out and check things out and get it in order?

Thanks BJo. No, I can't go out beforehand. Dh is in Iraq right now, and as soon as he gets back we are headed out there. We will be there in about a month. Thanks for all the info. We need something 4 bedroom and with plenty of room. Do you know which areas go to Mann middle school? I was told that one was much better than the other. We will have a child in elementary, middle, & high school.

I know when I lived on post as a kid we lived in Beachwood and my brother went to Mann middle school.
