Fairchild AFB ?'s!!

Sooo I just found out we are getting stationed at Fairchild...never been there before so I am looking for any info about the area, places to avoid, good neighborhoods, etc. Thanks!

I think to say it snows it an understatement. I think we had snow from November to April last year.

I don't know much about the base, but I (and some other lovely ladies) are from the area. If you look in the group (Eastern Washington) there's some ladies with husband's stationed there.

if you are looking to live off base there are some nice apartments real close to base by the walmart. if you are looking to get a house off base then I'd look in medical lake, which is real close, Cheney isn't far either. they are redoing base housing so you may even get lucky and get a new house on base the "old" base houseing isn't bad though I live on base and don't have a ton of complains other then the communication with thehousing people is kinda sucky. if you want to know anything of want contact numbers let me know

I loved Spokane when we were there! Down by the falls, if you hike all the way down there is a table... it's a great place for a candlelight surprise dinner, especially if you grab some take out from Olive Garden (or pay one of the waiters to deliver it for you). That was probably my favorite moment in Spokane.

Theres also a GREAT steakhouse in Cour D'Alene and a wonderful church in Spokane Valley. When you get out there, EXPLORE!

Do you know what the housing is like for officers? I read that company grade housing is a 4 bdrm house, but I wasn't sure if that was true or not. I saw a community of townhomes in Airway Heights, is that a decent area? How about cell coverage, we have AT&T, do you think that will be ok? Thanks so much! I feel like I have a million questions

I'm not sure what officer housing is like, but they are redoing ALL of housing so right now everyone is mixed up and no one really knows what the new plan holds for enlisted and officers. Airway Heights isn't the nicest place, its most tailor parks, but there are places developing though. My hubby and I have AT&T and we don't have problems with it. Don't worry about asking to many questions I'm glad I can help
