So this is my first summer here in Washington and I am wanting to do something fun for the 4th of July. My friend is coming into town and I want to take her out. Where would you recommend seeing the fireworks? and are there any carnivals around here? TIA ladies

I watched the fireworks from a neighborhood in north Tacoma. They fire from the water just off Ruston way. I know Ft. Lewis does something for the 4th but I have never been to it.

Seattle does a HUGE show & all day deal at Lk Washington, but there are TONS of people there, so I haven't been since I was a kid (I have crowd anxiety). There are usually announcments in your local newspaper.

There's stuff on Ft. Lewis. I don't know if they'll have rides but I know there will be fireworks.

You could go to the fireworks on post or you can go to fireworks on the tacoma waterfront. I went to the fireworks on the waterfront last year and it was awesome.You could even see the fireworks from seattle behind them at the same time.
