The one by Mt. Shasta for sure. I used to live in Portland. Mt. Shasta Pass gets NASTY in the winter, so beware.

Make sure you have chains...A lot of them wont let you through if the weather is bad without them.
Are you scrappy enough for me

There are a few passes. The first is Canyon Creek, then Stage road then Smith Hill summit. The next is Sexton Mountain. These can get kind of bad and you should definitely stay on top of the weather and recommendations. The last one is Siskiyou pass- the one mentioned before. Ashland is the last town on the OR side and Hilt, CA is on the other side. (Shasta is a ways into CA.)They close it frequently and Ashland fills up (and can be very expensive) so I wouldn't plan to cross at night- it is better to stay a night in Phoenix, Talent or Medford Oregon then head for the pass in the morning. Here is a link for you:

I went to college in Ashland so I am pretty familiar with this part of the country. It can be challenging in the winter!

DH and I just drove from CA to Ft. Lewis last week. It was quite scary at times.
