    Hello Moving to Washington!

    Advertisements
Hi! I'm going to be moving to Washington in October from Kentucky and was just looking for more information. We will be looking for an apartment when we got out there and I was just wondering where some good areas are? My DB wants to be fairly close to base and we've been told to look at Lakewood and Lacey. Any help you ladies could give about housing or moving to Washington in general would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

Oh and I live in Lakewood and I love it, it's not too big, great shopping center with all the main stores you need. Very near the freeway and post. And good parks, beach nearby too.

We just moved to WA 2 weeks ago, If you are planning to live off post, i wouldnt bother looking up anymore apartment complexes online or anything, i have discovered that it was a huge waste of time. When you get here going to the housing office on post and they will give you a list of apartment complexes, duplexes and houses that you can call and get quotes on rent. Its really nice because there is this program called the RPP (Rental Partnership Program) that the army has with surrounding complexes, and its great because you get 5% off your rent, plus you dont have to pay any application fees or security deposit which saves you money. Your rent is paid in allotment which means it comes right out of your paycheck if u have anymore questions feel free to contact me. my aim screen name is "TequilaRoseLvr"
