What: The sixth annual Military Family Support March

When: 9:30 a.m. Saturday 9-13

Where: Wal-Mart parking lot, 1401 Galaxy Drive N.E., Lacey

Route: Two miles; marchers will go south on Galaxy Drive, turn west on Martin Way, walk to the Great Floors store and head back.

Activities: Mascots, Kids Zone, speeches, and static military displays featuring vintage and modern vehicles. After the march, a celebration of local service members and their families will include free food. Music and a candy drop by helicopter also will occur.
A patient at my office is helping run it and he said there will be burgers, hot dogs, drinks, cotton candy, popcorn, all kinds of stuff after the march that is completely free. It's all gonna be in the Walmart parking lot. There will be a country band too.
It sounds like a lot of fun and all the money donated goes to military families, not the military itself. He said it's the only organization that raises and donates to families only in the whole country.

To participate: Donations are accepted, but not required to march.
