    We want a dog

    Advertisements
OK Dh and I have been talking about getting a dog when we get to Utah. We want to be able to show it (I used to breed and show dogs in Australia and miss it).

We are thinking about a Harrier. Does anyone know of any Harrier breeders in or around Utah (we don't mind if we have to drive to get a good dog) or even VA (we'd get MIL to get it for us)?

    TIA

I don't, but I'd bet there are some. I know my aunt breeds yorkies.

A Harrier is kinda like a big Beagle. We thought Harrier and Air Force kinda go well together. lol

Maybe try petfinder.com I'm not familiar with the Harrier breed either.

If you could ask that would be good. I have looked on AKC website, but for some reason can never get to what I want. I am going to have to sit down one day and really play around and see.

Almost all of the National club here in the US will offer breeder directories. http://www.harrierclubofamerica.com/ This is the AKC parent club so I would contact one of the officers. They usually know who has pups on the ground. Also, being a lesser known breed people are usually eager to place in performance homes so be sure to tell them you want to show. So, you should contact them. Did you have hounds in the past? I own and show a Toller (Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever....its a great breed and you can still owner handle and finish them with a pro in the ring.)
