    pac nw weekend getaway ideas

    Advertisements
db & i wanna take a weekend getaway. what are some nearby places to go this time of year? some place w/ sightseeing where we could get a motel or b&b room.

i've looked into the navy rec area place to the north that was suggested & i'm sure we'll be doing the rental cabin thing in the future, but i don't wanna put the forethought into a camping trip right now.

Leavenworth is beautiful this time of year.

Port Townshend is always fun... lots of cute little shops to poke around in.

Ocean Shores is a nice place if you just wanna hang out in the hotel, but a bit of a drive.

Gig Harbor is popular in the summer. There's a couple little bed & breakfasts near the waterfront.

Paradise Lodge at Mt. Rainier is a beautiful place to stay.

Lake Crescent Lodge is beautiful (http://www.lakecrescentlodge.com)

    Have fun

Port Townsend is great, we got married there up at Manresa .

    LaConner is fun and quaint.

Kalaloch is on the coast, love it - we're not big fans of Ocean Shores, waaaaay too touristy.

You could always head over to the San Juans for the weekend too.

La Conner is beautiful (I was married there). Port Townsend is a great choice too.

I'm here on Whidbey Island and I think this area's pretty sweet too.

A friend of mine rented a condo up at Mt Baker last week and said it was awesome. I love it up there. And apparently there is snow on the mountain but not too much to make it full snow season yet.

Snoqualmie Falls is another pretty area. I love Coeur d'Alene too, although that's just over the border with Idaho.

db's grandpa lives on the lake in sandpoint id, which is about an hour from coeur d'alene...he says it's even more beautiful. i drove thru couer d'alene on my way out here & thought it was GORGEOUS.

anyways, goal of this trip is total alone time, so going to his gpa's doesn't quite fit the bill...plus we want a place that's a lil closer, so not so much drive time, otherwise i have to take an afternoon off work & my vacay time doesn't kick in til mid jan.

thanks for all the ideas girls!
