I had a friend that lived over there in a 3 bedroom. Her townhouse was very nice. Wouldn't that be a long drive to ODU?

I don't know!!! HAHA!!! I'm just hearing that Virginia Beach is a better area than Norfolk. And since Ethan will be starting pre-school of some sort while we're there, I prefer the nicer areas...
Also, it'll be good for Bryan to become familiarized with the aviation community while he's an officer candidate.

VB is BETTER than Norfolk. VB is also more expensive than Norfolk. Chesapeake will be your best bet school, safety & moneywise.

When we were stationed at Oceana we lived in a craphole called Emerald Point. Stay away from there!!
We also lived at Mariners Cove. Okay place, crappy size, crappy management.

Well we don't plan on buying since Bryan won't have all those extra pays.
Is there military housing in Chesapeake?! If so, what base would I be looking under?!

oh oh ..base housing as opposed to out on town housing! Good luck with that... we were on 3 waiting list when we were stationed at Oceana & in the 2 years we were there, we never made it even remotely close to the top!

No military housing in Chesapeake as far as I know. I've heard they are building close to little creek which is not far from Oceana. Other than that, housing is.. iffy (either nice or aweful!)
