    Help On Base Housing/DC area

    Advertisements
    Hi all!
Hubby is stationed at Joint Base Anacostia Bolling and we currently live in Howard County, MD. Our daughter will be graduating high school in June and we are considering moving to on base housing.
Any feedback regarding housing on Bolling would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you in advance

Hii. I don't know about Bolling housing but I just thought I'd say hey. I live in Charles county, my hubby is at Andrews.

I have friends that live on Bolling and their housing is really nice. I personally wouldn't live on base though. The BAH rate in DC is so high that if it were me I would live somewhere that I could pocket BAH money. Anacostia is not a nice area as I'm sure you know and while the base is safe obviously, I wouldn't want to live in the middle of that.

I wish there was a "like" option, like there is on Facebook! Thank you for the "hello" Chomper
LiveFast, I hear where you are coming from! Since we are soon to be "empty nesters" (wow! Makes me sad just typing that!), I thought it would be nice if hubby didn't have to deal with traffic.
To be honest, I don't know the area (I stay in my little bubble of Howard county), so any input is greatly appreciated!

the housing on bolling as actually really nice, my ex used to live there. as for the safety issue the base is really easy to get in and out of right from the highway you literally exit and you at the gate. leaving just jump on the highway and alexandria is right across the river which is pretty nice.

I think the housing is nice. My cousin was Navy and lived in the dorms on Bolling but we visited her friends on base, most the housing seemed new.

I don't really like base living though so that would be a downside for us.

We have friends living on Bolling and seems to like it. We actually thought about moving from Belvoir to Bolling. As my youngest has lots of appointments up that way
