We are looking at living off base as it is going to take forever to get orders and the wait list is 3 months-1 year.

My husband and I live near Millersville and really like it. I would kinda stay clear of laurel but that's just my opinion. If you want to ask about specific areas you can message me.

I have lived in the area my entire life. Right near Ft. Meade, I would suggest Odenton. Super close to base, and pretty good area, but itcan get pricey. If you have any specific area you are curious about, I would be happy to help you out.

    Me too
I live about 15 minutes from there now, and my husband works maybe 10 minutes the other direction. Just stay away from PG county (with the exception of Bowie) and you're good. Cost of living in the area can be a bit ridiculous, but I guess that's what happens being this close to DC.

Definitely agree with staying away from PG co. Though, that would probably be a bit of a commute anyway. At least, IMO.

With traffic, definitely. That being said, I can make it from Bowie to Ft. Meade in 15 minutes flat as long as traffic on 295 isn't too bad haha. Then again, Bowie is on the outer edge, but the part of Laurel that's PG county is super sketch. The only areas my FIL will allow me to go to in the county by myself are Upper Marlboro and Bowie.
