It has nice areas...as far as stuff to do youre about an hour from DC, and about the same to baltimore I believe, which both have a lot of stuff to do. We don't really go up to Frederick much except to go to Wegmans and the mall and get cheap tickets at the MWR, but I know they have a zoo thing up there (never been so cant tell you if it sucks or not) and they have baseball games up there(not major league of course, but baseball nonetheless) They have a pretty decent movie theatre (the one down here is kinda lame)...Hmm lets see they have a pretty nice bounce house in one of the malls, and a decent playground in the same one. I have an FRG meeting up there tomorrow so if I get around to talking to anyone up there I'll have to ask if i'm missing something. I'm horrible at talking to people so I can't guarantee i'll have new information.
And yes they have lots and lots of food options

Oh as far as things to do not involving children there is a bar/pool place called champions that's pretty cool and has live music on the weekends.

I grew up in downtown historic frederick. I can totally help you find a place. My mom is a realtor there and could help you find great place to live. I love Frederick. Feel free to message me and I can tell you all about it.

We found an apartment that we will be renting. At least we want to rent an apartment first. It is near Ballenger creek

My daughter will probably go to Elementary School while we are living there. My husband will be working for the VA while we are there
