    Moving to Maryland. Also

    Advertisements
DH and I are moving to Maryland Point of rocks is the area. We know nothing about this place we are from FL and that is where we are right now. But My uncle said DHs military experience can get him a great job working with him. SO we are moving up there since there is NO jobs here that DH is interested. So We are heading up there in about 3 weeks. But my question is. IS anyone on here from that area. ALL of our friends are on the boat DH just got off of. So we have no friends where we are going. Luckily we wont be but 4 hours from Norfolk so our friends will be somewhat close we are just wanting to make friends closer to home

    TIA

I'm new to the area, too! I'm here for 10 weeks, and then it's back to Maine for me. I'm about an hour from you, it looks like.

You both get a free pass to Busch Gardens (Williamsburg, VA) so when you have a free weekend you should go! If you like amusement parks, that is. I haven't been yet, but I want to! There is also the Star-Spangled Sailabration in Baltimore from June 13-19 (link). Since your DH was Navy he might enjoy it.

    Oh.

If he's reserves he can still get it, but I'm assuming he's completely out?

Wow, OP, you are in the northwestern part of maryland, near WV...
I'm in NOVA, but that part of maryland is at least 2 hours from me.. I would say you are more like 6 hours from norfolk, largely because of how you need to get there. I know many of us on this site are in the DMV (DC/MD/VA) but the parts of MD are more like Baltimore and closer to DC.

220 miles could be 4 hours with no traffic. I'm about 150 miles from Norfolk and it takes me 2 1/2 hours on a good day...

Even so, where you are is still about 50-80 miles from some of us on this site. We are in the NoVA/DC/Eastern MD area/Baltimore.
