Anyone in the Jacksonville NC area?

    Advertisements
    Hello everyone,

I'm looking to spend 7-10 days down in Jacksonville, NC to help my DB find a house. If I do decide to move down there it would be so nice to make some new friends....I may go crazy if I sit around waiting for him to come home from work...

I'll be moving to Jacksonville after my DF gets home (It'll be about 9 months til I'm there though.) He's stationed at New River as well.

    Hi!

I figured that maybe if I made a few friends on here before I spent a long time or even decided to move to NC..would make the transition less nerve wrecking. I'm also extremely new to the military way of life and at times it can be so overwhelming but I'm taking it a day at a time.

Is that a picture of your daughter? Shes beautiful!!

Awww that's so awesome! My DB will be deploying around the same time your DF will be returning so I will most def need some friends to lean on if I decide to move in with him.

I've been looking all over! Jacksonville, the Richlands....I dont know NC very well so I don't know what tonws/cities are better than others. All I know is that he's itching to get a house before he deploys...

If you can recommend any surrounding towns/cities to look in i'd be so grateful!

It really depends on what you are looking for. Jacksonville is not that big of a town, but is busy and crowded IMO. I would look in Richlands, Hubert, Swansboro, and Sneads Ferry. Swansboro and Sneads Ferry are a little closer to the beaches as well. I love where we live. It's quiet but still close enough to base.
