Hi- I am new to this but I saw your subject line and Norfolk is actually where my boyfriend is stationed or docked (not really sure what the term is for "where his ship is") I live in NY and we see each other every weekend. The only hotels that I have stayed at is Quality Inn and Hampton Inn on Hampton Blvd right outside of the base. The Hampton Inn was my favorite. The staff is really nice and its a very clean hotel. I would definitely recommend that one. It was also not too pricey, I think it was like $94 a night with his military discount.

    Hope that helps!

I'm so glad you asked this question because I'm going to see my DF the very last week of Feb too and have no idea where to stay.

They are in the process of rebuilding and remodeling the Navy Lodge as long as you get put in the new section then you should be fine. But the Hampton Inn on Hampton Blvd is very nice.

If you consider Virginia Beach let me know - I can tell you where. The only one I would *NOT* recommend is The Wynwood on Lynnhaven

why not stay on the hotels on base? it's usually cheaper. I know at langley AFB across the bridge it's only $40 a night.

I will be in this same position. When DF gets flown back to Norfolk soon they are putting him in the barracks until he gets out of the Navy. I was planning on staying at te Navy Lodge on base when I go see him.. why is that bad? Also, why can't you stay with him in the barracks? Is that how it goes with all barracks? Can he sleep with me at the hotel or is that not allowed?

Norfolk Navy Lodge is really not that bad.. there are some rooms that are old and smelly, but I've been in worse!

The Little Creek Navy Lodge is ALOT better.. but it's like 15 min away (depending on traffic)

I like the Econolodge on Northampton Blvd. 60 bucks a night. 15 mins from base. Great rooms. I loved it there.
