    Help TomTom or Garmin?

    Advertisements
Which one is better? In less than 2 weeks I am driving to Parkersburg,WV with Boubbi, Duck, and Goose from CT and I'm planning on buying one, but I don't know which one. (Boubbi= 2yr old son, Duck=dog, and Goose=cat) These are the two I picked out:

    This is the Garmin:

    http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...ct_id=10710682

    This is the Tomtom:

    http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=7767501

Right now I'm leaning towards the Garmin, but only because it's pink. That's probably not a good reason, which is why I'm asking for help. I just want one with the points of interest, spoken directions, something I don't have to fiddle with too much out of the box, and definitely one that tells me that I'm going the wrong way quickly and fixes it.

I'm probably going to have $100- $150 to spend.

I'm leaving the 18th and the money I'll have for it I'll have the 15th or the 17th, so shipping probably is a factor. Walmart has that cool site to store thing, but it takes a few days to a week unless you join some club.

Does anyone has either of these or know anything about them?
I just horrified that I'mna get lost in podunk town that's all unmarked dirt roads before I even get to the WV border. So I'm definitely buying one, just don't know which one.

Thank in advance for your girls' help!

TomTom has 4 1/2 stars with 466 votes and Garmin has 4 stars with 1 vote. I'd do TomTom.

I know what you mean about the pink though!

    The pink IS tempting.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Garmin doesn't redirect you when you get lost. It just tells you that you have gone off of the track and need to get back on it. That was a deal breaker for me. I have a TomTom.

Good to know. Thanks for correcting that.

I haven't shopped for them in a year and that was the case back then. I suppose I'm no help at helping choose then.

Garmin is the best brand IMO and DF's (who is like the king of electronics)

Garmin will redirect you also, they have awsome other features like points of interest (which is my fav.)

Yeah I just got mine in July so they probably added that feature after getting complaints

My husband and I have a garmin and we LOVE it. We use it all the time. It is very user friendly even my 51 year old mom who knows next to nothing about electronics/computers can use and figured it out.
