    Hey guys!

Soooo... I am moving to Norfolk in late Oct. and I am soo overwhelmed! We put in an app for Stanley Court but I have no idea how it is?

Any suggestions on housing, good places to work, schools for my 4 year old, or any great Norfolk advice? I keep hearing people say VA beach is the best place...but I trust you ladies who've been through this

    I'm excited but scared.. grrrr....

but I can't wait to possibly meet u ladies! Thanks in advance!!!

Good luck with your move. We have lived in Norfolk the last 2 years and have no complaints. My daughter is not school age yet though. She is going to a preschool at a Methodist Church preschool here in Norfolk. We did live out on the town in Norfolk and had the worst rental experience of our life. We are not military housing people but after our awful rental we went into military housing. We are in Castle Acres and I don't mind it.

In Va Beach there is more to offer as far as shopping and stuff. For us living closer to the base worked best for us.

We will be leaving the area before you get here but good luck with your move.

I recommend military housing if at all possible. We live in Newport News, the only bad I have to say about my experience is the tunnel traffic.

Stanley Court's in Portsmouth, near the shipyard. I live in Norfolk and I like it so far. I don't know much about P'mouth though.

I live in Ghent. I really like it. I rarely drive....for the most part everything I need is within walking distance. I love the old buildings...it works for me. I guess it all depends on what you are looking for

I live in norfolk housing and love it. Few issues here and there but then again that is going to be anyplace.
