We just ate at Rajput Indian Cuisine yesterday and it was pretty good. I'm assuming it's not a chain...it didn't seem chainlike. Oh and for breakfast we like Charlie's.

Also I hear Cogan's Pizza is amazing but we were waiting for my DF's friend to take us there because it's his favorite place. (He comes back from Cuba this week.)

ok my two cents. if he is doing paperwork you should have the car. but yes you can walk to the exchange but its not that close keep in mind. they have really good clothes in my opinion ESPECIALLY for kids. however, i do like the oceana exchange much better if you can make it out to that one. as far as restaurants near navy lodge there is mostly chains. there is ruby tuesday, applebees, fast food. my favorite restaurants in this area are plaza azteca (mexican) and nawab indian cuisine. as far as tours let me know when you'll be here and i will see if my hubby will be there and he could hook you up. or right there by the navy lodge, outside gate 5 they have a navy ships tour where they take you out on a regular little boat that drives by all of the navy ships and they tell you all about it. one word of advise i learned the hard way. if you are on base and you want to take pics of the front of the ship, be careful your not supposed to do that and they can take your camera! hope you enjoy!

There is a free bus that runs all over the base. You might want to look into that as well.

But the Navy Lodge and the Nex are off base.

The HRT does run from Navy lodge up to the NEX. IDK how much fare is. But it is aways from each other. That would be a hike.

I like Joe's Crabshack in Greenbrier! Depending on how old your children are, there is a playground there that they can play on!!!
