    HR Ladies

    Advertisements
Krisha mentioned to look in VA Beach and Chesapeake to live because of schools. This is my first time PCS'ing and having to worry about school districts. I know when we lived there last time, everyone always went on and on about York County schools.

We havent completely decided which side we want to live on. DH doesnt care about having to deal with the HRBT.

What are your experiences with the school districts out there?

You want to stay clear of anything within the Green Run district (which Midway Manor housing is in). Other than Green Run I haven't learned of any other major issue w/the schools here. We are in the Salem district and all and all I'm happy with both the middle school and the primary school.
Missing someone gets easier everyday because even though you are one day further from the last time you saw them, you are one day closer to the next time you will.

I will be honest....My brother has school aged kids down here and he REFUSES to put them in ANY public school system. He sends them both to private schools. And to be honest if my daughter were to go to school down here I would work my a$$ off to afford tuition to send her to a private school.

York County and Chesapeake are the better schools is what I've been told.

We lived in Virginia Beach & in Newport News. We prefer the peninsula over the south side!
    Peninsula is cheaper housing wise.

    Congrats on getting your orders!!!

I live in Chesapeake and love the school that both of my kids go to. My son is even in the gifted and talented program that Chesapeake offers. We have been here for 3 years now and have had nothing but good things.

I don't have kids, so I can't help much... but I found the city data forum for Hampton Roads really helpful when we were moving here. If you search it for school districts, you'll find a ton of posts, some with links to data and statistics.
