    Nutts MARYLAND GIRLIES! QUESTION!

    Advertisements
i was wondering what airline you all took to see you db, df, or dh at his graduation from boot camp in Great Lakes, IL. BWI to O'Hare? or is there a cheaper way... also how far in advance did you book tickets, also where you found a cheap hotel...and i'm only 18 so i can't rent a car, so i guess its the cab for me....

just a few pointers so i dont waste a lot of money trying to fly up there for a weekend! or if theres a website that would inform me of things i need to know.

    thanks

I think I went from BWI to O'Hare - flew with southwest...

We stayed at the Marriott in Waukegan for I think 4 nights
    http://www.marriott.com/hotels/trave...ukegan-gurnee/

then the Navy Lodge near base for 2 nights

everything was booked about 1 month in advance if I remember correctly. You can rent a car at 18- alot of rental car companies are doing that now- they just make you pay an extra fee. Theres a ton of cab & transport companies available too.

If you can spare a day or 2, visit the Navy Pier & downtown Chicago. It's worth it!

really? southwest doesn't have a connecting flight from bwi or dulles(DC) to O'Hare... i know US airways, united airlines, northwest airlines, american west, and american airlines fly out of bwi to O'hare. but i really like southwest's cheap flights. hehe i'll find something...>.<

ah i see i see, did you find it cheaper to take southwest and then a cab to Great Lakes? I saw SW had great deals to/from bwi to Midway for $77 one way, which is awesome! I just hope its not too expensive to take a cab to Great Lakes because i've seen flights that cost about $100 and take me straight to O'hare. I just want the cheapest way haha >.<

I have no idea! I'm sorry! It's been a while. My MIL was with me so we rented a car going from the airport to GL.. DH & I used a shuttle (he dropped me off along with about 4 other sailors & rode back to base)
Here's some taxi companies- maybe you can call & get some rates?

Sometimes flying out of Dulles is cheaper than BWI, but it is a hike (depending on where you live)

Also try to save money on airport parking... have someone drop you at the airport or take a shuttle

Hey there!!! Ur SO should send u a packet that has all the info on discounted hotels and airlines. I went to www.mwrtravelplus.com to book mine. I flew into O'hare from BWI on United and a shuttle (Airport Express) took me to my hotel. I stayed at the Quality Inn Waukegan for 55$(mil rate) a night and I just used a cab service during the weekend because we really didn't go anywhere. I would suggest the Navy Lodge b/c its right across the street from where he graduates. I booked the flight the week b4 and the hotel like 3 weeks b4. But u should be receiving a packet that has all this info in it for u. Good Luck and have fun!!!
