I live in the Quad Cities but on the Illinois side...But darn close enough to Iowa.

im in the davenport area ive lived here almost my whole life and im back here while hes in iraq and i know how you feel there nothing in iowa i love the south where i was born theres tons to do and the ppl are not rude but maybe thats just alabama

My grandpa lives in Ft Madison, I lived there VERY long ago... I miss it, except the HOT summers!!

Iowans....oh how I'm so glad I found you!! I'm stationed over here in Germany but my husband just left for Iraq and I'm moving back there hopefully in the next couple of weeks for the duration of the deployment. I need to connect with you people! This is our first deployment and I really need some friends who can understand what I'm going thru when I get back to Iowa. Where are all you from? I'm from Cedar Rapids.

i kind of do! i had a friend who lived there and a guy from df's unit is from there i think

I'm not there now, but I was born and raised in Davenport. It's so nice to see people talking about home. You don't hear people talk about Iowa much unless it has to do with elections.

Hopefully I will be back there for a visit in Sept. because my sister is having her first child.
