Umm, I guess we're moving to Chicago. - North Central U.S

My husband NOW has orders to Great Lakes for 3 years as an instructor.

I'm pretty much freaking out. Chicago is HUGE!

Anyone have any information/tips? How's the housing market there? Preschools? Weather? Economy and job market?

You are going to do great there Amy! I'm so glad he got orders and you have a plan again! I don't know much about Chicago except that its cold in the winter...

Ha, no orders in hand yet, but I'm actually going to try to count on them this time. Haha, should have learned my lesson last time. I'm still heartbroken. Chicago is no Alaska.

alaska is on my wish list as well! but i think chicago will be a great adventure for you guys!

Chicago is like my home away from home, my hometown is an hour from there. I can't really tell you much about the housing market or anything because i've never tried to move there, but there is SO much to do there. Just be prepared for our lovely winters

Wow! Good luck with it!

A message just came out that if you don't have orders in hand you're pretty much on hold, there's like 20% that will get their verbals but the rest will have to wait. We still don't have our hard copy orders either

I would love to go back to Chicago! I haven't been there in 11 years. We lived there for the whole year of 1998.
