I've been to Ft. Riley a few times. I never really hear anything great about that place. Manhattan is close by but it's a college town so it's not very "family" friendly. Topeka is about an hour and a half away and that's where I'm from. Good luck.

I'm at Ft. Riley PM me if you have any specific questions for me.
Otherwise, there's really not a whole lot to do. Family stuff to do: Milford Lake is just outside of Junction City, it is really fun to go camping, swimming & take a boat out there. Apparently there is a zoo in Manhattan which is just outside of base, I've never been but I've heard it's kind of cool. There's a big (I think it's like 15 theatres so it is decent anyway) movie theatre in Manhattan and a really small (I think 4) in Junction City. Topeka has a big mall and I'm sure there's more to do and it's about a 45 min to an hour drive. Then Kansas City is around 2 hours but there's a whole lot to do there to go up on weekends and stuff. Adult things to do: Aggieville is fun to go to the bars and stuff. Haha that's pretty much it. Let me know if you want to know anything else. |
