    Your thoughts about this?

I'm curious of other people's opinions on this.

Christie signs bill granting military families free access to beaches €” NewsWorks

My opinion: It's great that he's helping military families, kudos to him. But this is seriously what he's working on?! There are bigger things that need resolving. I love the shore and I live in Jersey, but I will still pay to get onto the shore. I'm in the middle with this. I don't agree with it, but I don't disagree with it.

Keep in mind that all Christie did was sign the bill (and possibly work behind the scenes to rally votes). It's not really when "he's working on"; it's what the NJ legislature is working on.

I don't really care one way or the other. It's a well-intended gesture, I guess. But I also think that passing a bill like this, assuming it has a lot of support, takes very little time, and doesn't really take away from time that could be spent on other, more important things.

I guess I'm cynical, but I see it all as political posturing, so that everyone sponsoring the bill, and then those co-sponsoring and voting for it, can all get their pro-military, pro-America, Rah rah rah cards punched. It's a political ad, and nothing more. But since I don't think it does any real damage, it's hard for me to care.

It's something that is being given, why not accept that and have an attitude of gratitude without adding the "but". Yes, of course there can always be an improvement and something more, but here's something nice that had been signed for military families.

Everything else shouldn't grind to a halt because there are more important issues out there... I don't have any issue with this.
