I couldn't help but tear up when I was watching it on the news. We have been praying for the families involved.

I followed the events last night and am still in shock. This is going to be colossal for Europe as a whole, and the anti-islamic/anti-refugee sentiments already being expressed on social media are sickening. People forget that the biggest victims of ISIS terror are muslim people living in the middle east.

    Copied from BBC website:

    Key Points
At least 128 people dead in gun and bomb attacks in Paris and around 180 injured
Islamic State claims responsibility for attacks in official statement
Scores of people killed at rock concert after gunmen open fire on crowd
Others killed in explosions near the Stade de France and gun attacks at city centre restaurants
State of emergency declared as France closes its borders

People forget that refugees are trying to flee the same atrocious monsters that committed these acts.

    My heart is so broken.

This. Ignorance and bigotry will only serve to spread more hatred and deepen the societal divides that groups like ISIS are intent on creating. Saying the refugees are guilty for the atrocities last night because they are muslim is like saying the jews were guilty for the acts of the nazis because they were german.

When I woke up around midnight the news had begun to cover the attacks, and DH was called via recall roster to confirm he was not in France at 1:30 in the morning. The borders have heightened security and the squadron has told us France is off-limits currently.

I can't stop reading the news, it's terrible and it's so very close to us. Just 2-3 hours via train, 4 via car.
