H1N1 vaccine arrives for troops in war zones, but not enough
H1N1 vaccine arrives for troops in war zones, but not enough - CNN.com I was wondering if any of your SOs have received this vaccine in either Afghanistan or Iraq yet? I'm worried because I know that DB is adamatly against it, but it looks like he may not have a choice. Apparently, from what I found online, some Soldiers already tried to challenge it and it was dismissed. I don't like the idea of him getting it, but I'm hoping that someone will tell me that its at least the shot and not the mist. So, have any of your SOs gotten the vaccine overseas yet? |

My DB is in Afghanistan and he has not gotten it yet, nor any word on if it is coming. I know I don't want it. DB said if they tell him to get it, he'll get it. He said what could be worse than the small pox vaccine.... I'm terrified to get any kind of flu vaccine, especially after that poor girl who had the nerve damage

Me too, but I know, at least when I got out in 2007, the military was primarily using the mist for the regular flu vaccine. I could see them doing the same thign here because of the lack of needles. It just really scares me and I know DB will do everything in his power to refuse it and I'm worried that he'll get in serious trouble.

I just give up already...

Hmm wonder what would happen if a HUGE chunk of the guys/girls said no. Would they send them ALL home? I think it would at least be worth it to get a group together and try. I hate how the military can force them to get a stupid flu vaccine.

I just REALLY don't trust this vaccine and don't want him getting it, and I know he feels the same way. (For the record, I'm not agaisnt all vaccines, just ones where correct trials have not been done.) |

I dont think DH has gotten the h1n1 yet. He has gotten the regular flu shot though. He said he was told he WILL be able to get the h1n1 before he gets home though. For us, we have no choice, the risks of the h1n1 vaccine are nothing compaired to the risks of DD dieing from the virus.
I really wish they would hurry up and make more AND be more selective on the way they give it out. DD got her first shot last month in a very dangerous (for her health) situation and theres no guerentee she will get the second. Sorry, im just so sick of this "vaccine shortage". Carry on.
