Just one question? IF we are all supposed to be treated equally then why would this ban being removed be so bad?
To me it would help everyone to be treated equally.

I am much more concerned with how well the person next to me does their job (especially if it's a high-stress area like a war zone or an operating room or a car crash or a burning building) than I am about which body parts they like to put where and in whom. |

![]() Yes, there are a LOT of things in the Bible that aren't acceptable in today's society: keeping girls out of school, dowries, beating one's wife, crucifixion, etc. We also know the earth revolves around the sun now, too. |

![]() Does it revolve around the sun! I thought the sun was a hole in the sky? I'm confused!

At a get together among army families this topic came up and so many people on here are saying that the "guys" would have a problem with it but what I have found is that the "guys" are much more concerned with someone who uses cocaine or some type of drug being someone they have to rely on in a war zone rather than a person being gay or straight. That will not distill their ability to do their job.....Lift the ban, Christians are taught to hate the sin and not the sinner so all this judgement because I'm a Christian makes people hate Christianity.
Also I have my own beliefs being born and raised in a Christian home but I thank God for my best friend and her girlfriend who are the best parents to their daughter and show true examples of love everyday. So, again I say lift the ban and maybe give classes on how to work together for those that it's an issue for. |

I quoted multiple posts and was going to write out a long ass answer to every last one. But DH just summed it up.....I know at least one person in this thread said they won't support homosexuality in the troops.....answer me this. Would you still not support them if that homosexual solider you judge was the man/woman who saved your spouse's life one day? Would you still look down on them for loving someone? Or would you realize that they are human and doing a selfless, wonderful job and you should support them just like you do every straight troop member and give them the chance to live their lives fully instead of hiding?
It's simple. Every solider...regardless of sexuality, is still a solider. And they deserve the same respect their fellow solider gets.
