    New gf of a coastie

New to this site and dating someone in the service/coast guard. It has been an amazing 4 months, he's an amazing man and when I say man I mean real type of manly man. One thing I haven't been used to which is partly his personalality is being so guarded which I believe comes from him always moving every 3-4yrs, which he says most ppl don't stick around. He's slowly been coming out of his shell sharing more of his past with me. So a month into dating he receives notice of him leaving again to another state. We've continued seeing each other which we are both falling in love but again he's leaving and I'm getting nervous. He's already made plans for his next steps w working in private sector after his last year in service and made sure it's something I can come along with him. How has LDR relationships been with others in service? I'm in it for the long haul as I truly do love him. It's only a year that's all I keep thinking.
