So a girl does a google search...
and ends up joining militarysos.com.
Yeah not much of a punch line but its true lol. Hi im alicia. Im married to a wonderful man who just so happens to be in the navy. We've been married for almost 3 years (it will be 3 in January). Currently in the middle of our second deployment, but he is *supose to* be comming home just before christmas. We have one little girl who is 2 1/2 who has the biggest and best personality inspite of all the crude she goes through on a daily basis. She has a lot of medical problems, has a feeding tube, uses a special needs pushchair/pediatric wheelchair (but CAN walk), at last count she is on 10 different medications, and has quite a bit of equipment. The best guess of her doctors is that she has a medabolic disease, but we are still waiting on testing to come back. By the way, her name is Val. I found this site looking for info on pax river, my dh is getting stationed there after he gets back and im really having a difficult time with it. We were in virginia (norfolk) before he was deployed. We lived in military housing there and i had a very bad experiance. Also had a very bad experiance with the military hospital causeing my daughters "condition" to severly worsen rather rapidly. When he left i moved to wisconsin to be with family and now i am trying to decide whether to move to maryland or stay here. Its a very tough dicision for me with a LOT of variables involved and i was hopeing to maybe find some people in the pax river area who could tell me a little about it. By the way, my dh knows i am struggling a lot with this dicision and has told me we will make it work either way. Ok, enough rambling, i get a little talkative when its bedtime lol. |

Hi!! Pretty sure thats how I ended up here too!!
I don't have much advice, but I do know the east coast has some AMAZING specialty hospitals, that may be worth looking into now, and seeing if they have anything that might be beneficial to your daughter... For me that would be my first priority. My husband should be home just before Xmas too... although he is not stationed were Im living, so I have to wait a few extra days...
