Motherhood is killer on the nerves

    Advertisements
I put DS in his swing to sleep for a little while. 2ish hours later he wakes up and the middle of his forehead is purple It looked like someone had smacked him in the head. When I picked him up, it started to fade until you could barely see it anymore. I called the nurses line because it came back a little when he yawned a little while later. Wtf. And the nurse had no idea why or how this would happen. He's acting just fine, no discoloration anywhere else, breathing normally but now my poor nerves are fried and I can't stop watching him like a hawk. It's going to be a long night...

Does he have a "stork bite"? Bellas gets really red/purple sometimes, still. She's 6 now

Nope. He came out with no marks of any kind. This looked like a bruise that came and went within a few mins

That's really weird. I'd try back and have the nurse ask a Dr. I don't think it's bad but I would want to make sure.

Update: Took him to the doctor this morning, turns out the purple spot is a collection of blood vessels that decided to become more noticeable because of who knows why but it happens in babies. It should go away as he gets older but may stick around and show up if he lays a certain way, yawns to does any other usual baby stuff.
