    Sore.

    Advertisements
My right boob is sore. Kinda feels like I am not getting everything out when I pump. I get about the same amount out from each side and my left don't hurt...maybe just a little tender but my right hurts. When I pump I notice milk coming out from 3 or 4 holes in my left boob but only 1 or 2 from the right....could it be clogged or something. I am hoping to go see Ziva tomorrow and try to nurse but I don't want to be sore when I go up there. I made a warm compress to put on it and it makes it feel a little better. Is there anything else I can do?

Btw...pumping sucks (but I know it's worth it for Ziva) and is so boring...especially in the middle of the night. I want my baby girl home so I can stop pumping and nurse. I wouldn't mind getting up every 3 hours to nurse but to pump just sucks and I almost fall asleep in the middle of pumping. Dh picks on me and says I better not fall asleep cause I will wake up with no boobs

Sorry this kinda turned into a vent.

You may very well have a clog or other issues going on internally. Is there any heat or noticeable areas of particular tenderness if you massage your breast?

I had a clogged/blocked duct when my milk first came in. I had one after my previous pregnancy too. They usually tell you warm compresses and massage to help and try nursing on that side first when you do nurse. I don't want to scare you but the lactation consultant I saw wasn't too concerned and now I'm having problems with supply on that side . If you massage that side can you feel any small lumps or hard spots? I would definitely try to see a lactation specialist if it's at all possible for you.

I will check to see if I feel any lumps and I am hoping to see Ziva this weekend so I will talk to one of the LC while we are there.

Try cabbage leaves, seriously. They helped my swelling sooooo much. Put them on straight from the fridge. It should help with pain until you can see your LC.

If you go this route, be careful how long they're on, they are great for drying you up which is the last thing you want right now with exclusively pumping.

Try massaging while in the shower, that helped me when I just had pain like you're describing. Thought the same thing about a clogged duct but it was just normal, weird nursing, post-pregnancy pains.

Warm compresses are great at getting a clogged duct unclogged. Also massage.

Warm compress and massage while nursing/pumping. I got a clogged duct that was fairly painful and this took care of it in like two feedings. BE CAREFUL if you use cabbage leaves-- they can dry you up pretty quickly, so if you DO use them, keep a very close eye out for a nosedive in your supply.
