Help Tips for drying milk up

    Advertisements
I have decided to finally quit pumping. I made it 4 and a half months, and I have enough frozen to give her breast milk past 6 months. This isn't how I expected it to go, but I think it will be for the best.

I have gone down to 2 short pumps a day, and just dealing with the engorgement. Does anyone have some helpful tips that might dry it up faster, or help with the pain?

    TIA

Cabbage leaves will help dry you up. Just placing them on your breasts.

When I was having drying up issues years ago, the one thing that really helped the discomfort is so funny. I took surgical gloves, put water in them and froze them. Then those frozen little hands went right in my bra. It really eases the discomfort. Sometimes I'd put them in there with cabbage leaves too.

Took me about 4 days(of torture), I didn't breastfeed at all so it might have been a little different for me.

When I had my daughter they bound my breasts with an ace bandage. No space for milk production. With my son they gave me a shot to dry it up.

Yep, frozen (or really cold) cabbage leaves. Replace as they thaw/get warm.
