    Sad Swelling after c-section? Help

    Advertisements
I had my c section on Saturday and my feet and legs were fine. No swelling and I was up and moving as soon as I was allowed.

I woke up today and my feet look like an elephant's. I've been off my feet and chugging water all day and it's gone down for the most part but I got to googling and now I'm freaking out.

My BP was great after delivery also. Could I just be dehydrated?

I swelled up, too. It took about a week but I woke up one morning in a huge puddle of sweat and the swelling was gone an I had lost about 8 lbs. It's normal. If you push it and it stays indented, or if it doesn't go down, or it's painful, or you get concerned, call your doc.

It's pretty normal for swelling to pop up after that. I was super swollen after the procedure, then was fine for a week, and then I was back to the blueberry girl from Willy Wonka. Super hydrated, not crazy active, but enough, everything else fine, just random! Keep drinking water in case you were dehydrated but that's the fun of a section Hope you are feeling well for the most part!!

I've not had a c-section, but my friend has and I remember she said she had pretty bad swelling after hers. I was pretty swollen from pregnancy and I didn't lose the swelling in my feet until almost 10 days postpartum. Initially after the birth, there was no immediate difference.

I swelled up, my feet looked like tree trunks and I had cankles I dare not even think about now! It happens, I just made sure to stay hydrated, tried not to be super active (that's what did it to me) and I propped my feet up for a while.

I felt great like 5 days after the section and decided to go crazy cleaning my apartment and by the end of the day I had puffed up bad. I over did it. Don't over do it, just rest, make sure you're not doing any major heavy lifting or straining yourself. It'll get better with time!

They pump you full of a gazillion bags of fluids and medicine when you have a section, that's what most of it is. Dealing with it sucks but the weight loss when it all goes away is awesome.

I haven't dared weigh myself yet... DH says I'm smaller than I was when I got pregnant but I think he just wants a blow job.

Totally worth it to wait until the swelling is gone. I wish I would have so I didn't feel like such crap about weight that wasn't even real to begin with.

I no joke lost 20 pounds in fluid in one night and day about a week after. DH freaked out and said "quick, wash the sheets! We're sleeping in cankles!"
