    Supplementing?

    Advertisements
I'm going back to work on Monday and I will be pumping less, it's always really hard to stay hydrated at work. I've come to terms with the fact that I will probably have to supplement. My question is would it be better to give her just breast milk as long as I can using what I have saved or supplement and give her breast milk longer? I hope that makes sense

    TIA

When I quit nursing DD, I stretched out the breast milk I had in the freezer to last a couple of weeks so she'd get some each day rather than using it all up within a couple of days. It made me feel better about it.

I'd gradually ease into the formula to get her used to it.

I would ease her into it. I started out by doing breast milk during the day and formula before bed/nap since it doesn't digest as fast and helped them to sleep longer.

I would think that it would be better to start introducing formula gradually now so she can benefit from the breast milk longer.

Thanks for the advice I think I'm going to start mixing the two tomorrow so she can get used to it, it's bittersweet.
