    Question Blanket with Baby?

    Advertisements
At what age did you start allowing your baby (or toddler) to sleep with a blanket in his/her crib? (A loose blanket, not a swaddle) Belle is 8 months old on Wednesday, and maybe I'm being a spaz but the idea still just makes me paranoid. She can roll over both ways and crawl now, but I don't know. I just still feel weird on it.

Both girls were over a year old before they got a blanket. I did sleep sacks and stuff up until the point.

We've always used one. We have the Angelcare monitor, so that eased my mind when he was ittybitty.

DS has been sleeping with just a blanket since about 2 months. He absolutely hates being swaddled.

"Thank you so much. No matter what, nothing is possible without you behind the scenes bustin heads and takin names. Thank you again. Everything you have done for me means a lot and nothing has gone unnoticed. I love you so much and thank you for saying 'I do.'"

Neither of my kids was ever swaddled for more time than it took to take a picture. Even in the hospital with the swaddling-wizard nurses. But they also never really wanted blankets until they were crawling. So somewhere around 6 months each.

I still don't put Anna to bed with a blanket. She sleeps with a stuffed animal and her pjs keep her warm enough. I think when I switch her to a toddler bed (around when she's turning 2) then I will obviously set it up with a blanket, but she moves around too much for it to truly matter.

Personally I wouldn't do a blanket before one.

    ODD hated being swaddled too.

Both my kids used a sleep sack until she was over 1. She was about 15 months when I started letting her sleep with a pillow and blanket.

YDD is 15 months now and still uses a sleep sack for warmth, she just has a little blanket in there to cuddle with. She'll go to blankets only when she outgrows this sleepsack size.
